Roles: Product Designer, Design Lead - Mobile platforms
Skills: UI Design, UX Design, Visual Design, Prototyping
As the third member of the Spotify design team, I had the privilege of experiencing its growth through the pivotal years of 2011-2014 as Spotify grew up and launched across the world. From a trio of designers in a corner of the Stockholm office to an amazing multi-disciplinary design team from all over the world.
📱 Product Design Lead – Mobile. Responsible for the overall user experience of Spotify on iPhone, iPad, Android, and other mobile platforms. This includes the complete redesign of the mobile app in 2013-2014, on which current-day Spotify Mobile still largely rests.
⚫️ + 🟢 Part of a small team of early designers at Spotify that ideated, conceptualized, and established the core visual design language of Spotify as we know it today.
🎙️ Pioneered Podcasts on Spotify as a winning hack-week project. As a direct result, a Product Management-led effort to bring podcasts to Spotify was launched. Today, it’s a major strategic investment for the company and a significant part of the product offering.
🧠 Prototyped, designed, and launched Spotify's early explorations into leveraging machine learning and social connections to help people discover new music.
🇺🇸 Had no idea what I had gotten myself into as we launched Spotify in the United States. Spent 6 months at the New York office as we kickstarted Product and Design efforts in the US.
➕ A wide range of various projects, across many different Spotify products and platforms throughout the experimental and pivotal years of 2011-2014.
